Privacy, in plain words

Dubai Life is a free multiplayer game at dubailife.app, run by 16464181 Canada Foundation (operator of Dubai Life). Here's everything we store — nothing else.

What we keep

• Guest accounts. You can play without signing up. A guest id keeps your character and progress; it lives on the our servers and in your device's storage.
• Sign-in. If you save with Google, Apple or email, we store your sign-in id and email so your progress follows you across devices.
• Your game. Character look, money, career, homes, furniture, garage, businesses and settings — so the game remembers you.
• Chats and visits. Messages you send and homes you visit are saved so friends can read them later. Only the people in a chat or visit can see it.
• Who's online. While you play, other players nearby see your character's name, look and position. That's the game — it disappears when you leave.
• Connect. Your optional bio, hobbies and chosen home district help players get to know you. Public profiles can be found by other players; accepted friends can read private profiles. Connect never stores an exact location or distance.
• Friends and private messages. Friend requests, accepted friendships and messages are stored to provide Connect. Only accepted friends can send or read their conversation. Blocking prevents both accounts from viewing each other's Connect profile and messages; muting a conversation suppresses its notifications.
• Social handles. Optional Instagram, TikTok and X handles are stored as validated handles, not links. Only you and accepted friends can read them. They are not included in public search or online presence.
• Safety. Reports include the reason, account identifiers and reported message excerpt. The administration team can review reports and issue warnings, chat mutes or community bans. Review actions are recorded privately.

What we never do

• No selling your personal data. Google Analytics advertising features are turned off.
• No real-money purchases, betting or cash-outs — everything in the game is pretend.
• No access to your contacts, photos, microphone or precise real-world location.

Your choices

Waitlist

If you join the beta waitlist, we keep your email, chosen platform, optional founder-pack interest, signup date and campaign or referral source to send the updates you requested. We don’t ask for a name or phone number. Only the administration team can access the list; it isn’t an account or a purchase. A one-way hash of your visitor IP limits signup attempts; we never store the IP itself. To leave or have your entry deleted, email hello@dubailife.app from the address you used. We don’t share waitlist emails with analytics or third-party email services.

Analytics

In most countries anonymous analytics is on by default. Visitors in the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates and Quebec (or when we can't tell where you are) are asked first, and a browser Global Privacy Control signal counts as "off". You can switch it off any time in the game under Phone → Settings → Privacy, or with the buttons below. Turning it off doesn't affect play.

Google Analytics records: page visits, starting as a guest, sign-up started and completed, log-in, character created and completed, searches, places viewed and saved, messages started and sent, enquiries started and completed, support/contact clicks, share-card shares, waitlist signups and graphics recovery events. It reports approximate country/city, device, landing page and traffic source, uses analytics cookies, and Google may process it outside your country. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months, then deleted. We never send names, emails, phone numbers, player ids, message contents or search text; campaign labels and referring sites are filtered for personal information.

If you allow ad measurement, Dubai Life also loads Meta's pixel (Facebook and Instagram). It tells Meta only that someone on this device opened the city or saved their progress, together with the pages visited here and the browser used, so Dubai Life ads can count who came from a click and decide which ads are worth showing. It never receives your name, email, handle, messages or progress details. Your advertising choice is saved on this device with the date it was made, and you can change it here or in the game under Phone → Settings → Privacy at any time.

You choose whether your Connect profile is public and can edit or remove optional details and handles. Providing these details is optional; they are used to provide the social features you request. Private messages and friend records stay on the service until account deletion; deleting either account removes their shared messages and friendships, profile details, handles, thread settings and associated reports and moderation records.

Where applicable, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or obtain a copy of your personal data, object to processing and withdraw consent for optional information. Contact hello@dubailife.app to exercise these rights or ask about hosting, cross-border transfers or complaints to your local data protection authority. This policy describes the service; it is not a claim of legal certification.

You can delete your whole account any time: in the game under Phone → Settings → Account → Delete my account, or read how on the delete account page. Deletion removes your character, progress, messages and sign-in — there is no undo. For safety, reports filed by or about a deleted account are kept after deletion, but anonymised: the name and profile are replaced with "Deleted account" and no profile text, handles or photos remain. Message content is kept only where a report itself quoted it.
